The sun peeked over the horizon briefly at dawn, veiled by haze, before a smothering fog blanketed the ocean from horizon to the shoreline.

Like a glimmer of hope, sunrise hinted at the presence of the sun as dawn arrived on an overcast Monday. 

Low hanging clouds obscured the horizon at the time of sunrise, but the mighty sun eventually found a vent in the ceiling to illuminate the sky and create a powerful image.

Sunrise arrived this morning over a warm, pastel tinted horizon, as the cloud pattern and the gently rolling ocean framed the image exquisitely.

As stormy weekend weather approaches, the sun managed to squeeze a quick peek over the horizon on a settled Atlantic.

Sunrise after days of a lingering nor’easter, is a welcome sight. It’s a blessing to wake up to temperatures in the sixties half way through October.

At times, the most beautiful sky-scapes occur before the sun peeks over the horizon, as the angle of sunlight from beyond that boundary illuminates the cloud layers in beautiful swatches of color. 

Dawn, over rising seas and strong southerly winds, arrived today under wind-whipped clouds windowing the sun as it rose over the horizon.
