Social Work on an East Houston Median (1977)

 The source for this watercolor is a favorite black and white photo that I took on East Houston Street in NYC in 1977, while a student at Pratt. I had encountered this impromptu counseling session on the median, and  found it to be a very compelling and powerful image.

I painted it to replace a finished drawing that was lost to water damage a number of years ago.
